Basic Quiche
Ingredients
- 1/2 recipe pie crust, rolled out into a 9-inch pie plate
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup cheese, shredded or crumbled
- 2 cups add-ins (vegetables, proteins, etc.)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Blind bake pie crust until edges are golden (about 15 minutes).
- Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper with a hand mixer.
- Whisk in cheese and add-ins.
- Pour filling into crust.
- Bake until centre is set (about 55-60 minutes).
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
