Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper,.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment, cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt until just mixed.
- Using a scoop to form dough into balls.
- Mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll dough balls in cinnamon sugar then place on cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake until set but not too hard (about 8 to 10 minutes).
- Cool on wire racks.
