Ingredients
- 10 egg yolks
- 1 whole egg
- 1 1/3 cups white sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Grease and flour a 10" tube pan.
- Beat egg yolks and whole egg until thick and lemon coloured.
- Gradually beat sugar into eggs.
- Combine water, juice, rind, and vanilla and add to egg mixture.
- Beat for 5 minutes.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into egg mixture.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake until done (60 to 65 minutes).
- Invert pan and allow to cool.
