Ingredients
Base/topping
- 1 3/4 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon
Filling
- 2 cups dates
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Line 9x9 pan with parchment paper.
- Mix together filling ingredients in a saucepan
- Simmer over medium-low heat until thick.
- Let filling cool.
- Mix together base ingredients.
- Press half of the base mixture into the bottom of the pan.
- Cover with filling.
- Top with remaining base mixture.
- Bake in oven until done.
