Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 4 1/8 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- white sugar
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar.
- Beat in egg and molasses, mix until light and fluffy.
- Mix together dry ingredients.
- Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, mix until just blended.
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls.
- Roll balls in white sugar.
- Space balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Press balls down with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
- Bake 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
