Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1 beaten egg
- 3/4 cup full fat sour cream
Method
- Mix together the dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening until a dry crumby mixture forms.
- Mix in pecans, egg, and sour cream until a ragged dough forms.
- Cool in refrigerator for half an hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out on floured surface and cut into cookies.
- Place cookies on baking sheet.
- Bake until golden (about 15 minutes).
- Cool on wire rack.
